Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental health disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. It is characterized by a disconnection from reality, known as psychosis, and can lead to significant impairments in daily functioning. People with schizophrenia may experience hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, and altered behavior, often making it difficult to interact socially or hold down a job.
